Chapter 2: Qur’ānic Services of Dr. Isrār Aḥmad

Introduction of Anjuman Khuddām Al-Qur’ān

Anjuman Khuddām al-Qur’ān was established by Dr. Isrār Aḥmad in March 1972A. D. It was registered in November 1972A. D and Dr. Isrār Aḥmad was declared as lifetime president.[1]

The Memorandum of the Anjuman has the following contents:

Naḥmaduhū wa Nuṣallī ‘alā Rasūlehil karīm

Bismillāh al- Raḥmān al-Raḥīm

It is strongly felt that the dream of the renaissance of Islām and the second tenure for supremacy of righteous Dīn cannot be fulfilled without initiating a general movement to invoke faith in Muslim Ummah. To achieve this, it is mandatory that the source of faith and belief, i. e, the doctrine of intellect and wisdom by the Qur’ān should be publicized on a wide scale. Since we are in harmony with the thoughts of Dr. Isrār Aḥmad by overviewing his matchless task performed by him for the last four and half years, we, the few servants of The Divine Book hereby decide to set up “Central Anjuman Khuddām al-Qur’ān” which under the guidance of Dr. Isrār Aḥmad will keep striving the following objectives:

1.         Learning and customization of the Arabic Language.

2.         General persuasion and an invitation to study the Qur’ān.

3.         Transmitting and publishing the Qur’ānic disciplines.

4.         Adequate grooming and training of the youth who can make teaching and learning of the Qur’ān the life-mission, and

5.         Setting up of aQur’ān Academy which may present across philosophy and wisdom of the Qur’ān at the highest academic level.

May Allāh enable us to achieve these objectives by putting in maximum effort and sacrifice! (Āmīn)

الإسلام وقضايا المرأة

Fundamental aims of Islamic culture include welfare, happiness and progress of human society. Human being was created as the representative of Allah. Both man and woman are required to play an imperative role for the cause of serving humanity in a better way. No progress in the field of culture can be possible unless and until woman plays her divergent role in the society. Islam raised the status of woman to a great extent. She has been given rights to property, rights to take part in economic activities, rights to choose life partner, rights to determine his financial requirements and to overcome these and an honorable social status which was not given by the prior and other contemporary cultures and societies. It is a matter off act that woman occupied an important place during the Islamic Era and played an active role for the uplift of Society. In this article, I have tried to bring out the importance of the role of woman for the development of Islamic Culture and improvement of an Islamic Society.

Developing Entrepreneurial Model for Pakistani Smes a Case Study on Commercial Fast-Food Smes

This thesis has endeavored to develop an entrepreneurial model for Pakistani SMEs. While developing the model, the author has benefited from the experiences of successful entrepreneurs engaged in commercial fast-food sector. The research was conducted through a survey instrument, adopted from the validated questionnaires of the previous research. The instrument included 29 items. This study had a sample size of 257 and these individuals were successful commercial fast-food entrepreneurs. Data collected through survey was statistically analyzed and linear and stepwise regressions were used to test the research hypotheses. The results show that essentially four factors namely culture and environment, resources, innovation and opportunity are main factors of the profitability and business success in this sector. Therefore, favorable synergies ensuring availability of these determinants are required for the promotion and growth of the SMEs which will in turn induce economic growth in economy. It is further argued that seeking economic growth through the growth of SMEs sector is most appropriate strategy given the labor-abundant and capital scarce nature of the economy. The proposed model is analyzed through statistical and econometric techniques. The results so obtained validates theoretical model. The innovation factor turns out to be the most important factor, hence, the study concludes that entrepreneurial success is highly influenced by innovative behavior of the entrepreneurs but being opportunistic, a suitable culture and environment and sufficient resources are also needed for the success of a commercial fast-food SMEs. Extending this result, to the whole SMEs sector, it is maintained that entire entrepreneurial sector could be activated for the benefit of the economy. The results of the thesis are in general in conformity of the other similar studies undertaken in the western countries. It is recommended to conduct similar studies on other Pakistani SMEs sectors by benchmarking this study and the findings of this study must be incorporated in the SMEs policies and guidelines.
