پروفیسر شیخ عبدالقادر سرفراز (پونا)
ناسک (بمبئی) کے ایک خط سے جو مرحوم کے چھوٹے بھائی نے مجھے لکھا تھا یہ معلوم کرکے بڑا تاسف ہوا کہ میرے چالیس برس کے دوست پروفیسر شیخ عبدالقادر سرفراز نے پونہ میں اپنے مکان کا شانہ حق میں ۱۰؍ دسمبر ۱۹۵۲؁ء کو ساڑھے نو بجے انتقال فرمایا، اس کے بعد مرحوم کے بڑے صاحبزادے ڈاکٹر شیخ عبدالحق ایم، اے۔ پی، ایچ، ڈی پروفیسر اردو فارسی (بمبئی) کی اطلاع سے اور بہت سی باتیں معلوم ہوئیں، یہ بھی معلوم ہوا کہ مرحوم کو بڑھاپے اور شیخوخت کے ضعف کے سوا کوئی خاص مرض نہ تھا، بصارت سے معذور ہوچکے تھے، ایک ہفتہ سے ضعف بڑھتا جاتا تھا، ڈاکٹروں کے معائنہ سے قلب اور اعضائے رئیسہ توانا پائے گئے، حواس آخر تک بجا تھے، سوا نو بجے خود آنکھیں بند کرلیں لب ہل رہے تھے، غالباً کلمہ پڑھ رہے تھے، ۱۵ منٹ کے بعد یعنی ساڑھے نو بجے صبح کو اس دنیائے فانی سے سفر اختیار کیا۔
۱۹؍ جولائی ۱۸۷۹؁ء پیدایش کی تاریخ تھی، بہتر (۷۲) برس کی عمر پائی، مرحوم کا خاندان دراصل یوپی کا باشندہ تھا، غدر کے ایام میں بمبئی کی طرف نکل گیا، مرحوم کے والد شیخ سرفراز ڈاکٹر تھے، انہوں نے ناسک کو اپنا وطن بنایا لیکن مرحوم کی عمر کا بڑا حصہ پونہ اور بمبئی میں گزرا ۱۹۰۲؁ء میں بمبئی یونیورسٹی سے ایم، اے پاس کیا اور غالباً ان کا خاص موضوع فارسی تھا، اس زمانہ میں ایک شریف ایرانی فاضل پروفیسر مرزا حیرت بمبئی یونیورسٹی میں فارسی کے مسندنشین صدر تھے، ان کا غیر معمولی فضل و کمال تمام بمبئی میں مسلم تھا، مرحوم شیخ عبدالقادر کو فارسی کا ذوق انہی کی صحبت سے حاصل ہوا، چنانچہ مرزا حیرتؔ کی انہوں نے مختصر سوانح عمری بھی لکھی ہے اور مجلس میں اکثر ان کے فضائل...

شیرمادر بینک (Mother’s Milk Bank) کا شرعی حکم

The emergence of human milk banks for premature and underweight babies in the early twentieth century raised many questions about the proscription of breastfeeding kinship as are in Islamic jurisprudence. Many Islamic scholars tries to find its solution in the light of Quran, Sunnah and the sayings of early Imams of Fiqh, but their opinion about this matter was different like the differences of sayings of some Imams, until Islamic Organization for Medical Sciences based in Kuwait and Islamic fiqh Academy Jeddah, called Summits on this issue and decided against the establishment of such banks in Islamic world. The issue seemed to be almost solved until European Council for Fatwa and Research launched an appeal in 2003 against their solution and demanded to legitimate the use of Human Milk from these banks for the children of Muslim families in Europe and USA using the public scourge canon (Umum al Balwa) of fiqh. This appeal once again opened the door of discussion on this matter. This article is an overview of the sayings of early and modern jurisprudents and pros and cons of human milk banks in the quest of solution of this modern problem in the light of Islamic shariah, so that a just and balanced opinion may be adopted in this matter as it is motto of Islamic Law. This discussion will also affect many new problems faced by Muslim communities in European countries as well as Islamic countries in modern era

Transient Non-Thermal Mobility in Surface Subsurface Hetrogeneous Catalytic Reaction: Computer Simulation

To study the effect of transient non-thermal mobility in surface-subsurface heterogeneous catalytic reaction, simulation work has been done for CO-O 2 and CO- NO catalytic reaction on different surfaces. One class of transient non-thermal mobility of species includes Ely-Rideal (ER) mechanism. The first simple lattice gas model was introduced by Ziff, Gulari and Barshad, as a computer simulation model and is known as the ZGB model, which was used to study CO- O 2 reaction system. It has been found through simulation that ER mechanism generates features in the ZGB model that brings it closer to the real system. The Consideration of ER mechanism annihilates second order phase transition of the ZGB model and the reaction rate begins to increase as soon as feed concentration CO departs from zero, which is consistent with the experimental results. The other class of transient non-thermal mobility is precursor mechanism. This mechanism adds some additional features in the phase diagram of a particular catalytic reaction, which could not be observed by considering the Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanism. In the precursor mechanism, three different ranges of the surface environment have been investigated. Each environment consists of specific pattern for set of sites around the striking site. It is observed that the reactive window depends on the mobility of the precursors. It is also observed that when the probability of the precursor is increased, the production rates increases. Furthermore, the simulation is also performed to investigate the effect of diffusion of CO on the ZGB model. It has been found that the effect of diffusion of CO on the ZGB model is to increase the mobility of CO on the surface and hence the reaction rate increases with the result that the transition point y 2 shifts towards higher concentration of CO. However, the effect of diffusion of CO has no effect on the second order phase transition point y 1. The effect of diffusion of CO and N (atom) for CO-NO catalytic reaction has also been studied on BCC lattice. The effect of diffusion of CO and N on the production rates is found in the high concentration of CO. This mechanism is found responsible for slight increase in the window width where the concentration of CO is high. Through these models some experimental results have been reproduced of the real system.
