2. Al-Baqarah/The Cow

2. Al-Baqarah/The Cow

I/We begin by the Blessed Name of Allah

The Immensely Merciful to all, The Infinitely Compassionate to everyone.

02:01
a. Alif. Lam. Mim.

02:02
This Qur’an is the awaited Divine Book.
Let there be no doubt in that this is the Absolute Word of Allah in Arabic and no one can ever change it.
This is a manifesto that provides guidance for those who endeavor to shape their lives as well as their social behavior in a manner that seeks Allah’s Pleasure: the ever Allah- reverent.

02:03
They are the people who
believe in whatever is beyond their senses and perception, and
establish the Salat /Prayers and
spend a good part of their wealth which WE have favored them with in the Cause of Allah, human development, and community welfare.

02:04
And they also believe in that which is being sent down on to you O The Prophet,
and all Divine Scriptures that were sent down before you on to the earlier Prophets and
they firmly believe in the All-embracing concept of the Hereafter and its correlatives.

02:05
Thus, it is they who are living by the Guidance from their Rabb - The Lord.
And it is also they who are going to be successful.

02:06
Surely those who willfully deny and belie the truth of these beliefs despite your advocacy,
it is a matter of gross indifference to them whether you warn them of the consequences of disbelief or do not warn them, they are not going to believe.

02:07
Allah has set a seal upon
their hearts, and
their hearing, and
over their intellectual vision...

Contours of Hope: Dissecting Racial Discourse in Francis Duggan's Poetry

This study employs Theodor Adorno's theory of Aesthetics of Resistance to illuminate the intricate interplay between racial discourse and hope in the poetry of Francis Duggan. Through meticulous analysis, this research uncovers how Duggan's verses serve as a form of aesthetic resistance against prevailing racial prejudices. The study investigates the deliberate use of metaphors, imagery, and narrative techniques to convey messages of hope and empowerment within the context of racial discrimination. By examining the aesthetic choices made by Duggan, this research sheds light on the transformative potential of art in challenging and subverting dominant power structures. Ultimately, this investigation offers a nuanced understanding of how Duggan's poetry transcends mere literary expression, emerging as a potent tool for advocating racial equity and social change within the framework of Adorno's Aesthetics of Resistance.

A Study of Mechanical Properties of Irradiated Titanium and its Alloys at Low Temperatures

The present work attempts to study the effects of irradiation and deformation temperature on the mechanical properties of polycrystalline pure titanium (99.994 %). The specimens were irradiated by electron beam of energies ranging from 8-18 MeV at 300 K. The irradiated and unirradiated specimens were deformed using Universal Testing Machine in the temperature range 300-100 K at a strain rate of 1.2 ´ 10-3 /sec. A comparison between stress strain curves of unirradiated/ irradiated specimens recorded through the attached machine at room temperature, was carried out. The yield stress and ultimate tensile stress of irradiated specimens were found to be higher than that of unirradiated ones however the ductility was found to decrease. The changes in tensile parameters became more pronounced with increase of irradiation energy and decrease of test temperature. The stress relaxation tests were also conducted to observe stress relaxation behavior of the material at a certain fixed load. The stress relaxation rate was found to be lower in irradiated specimens than that of unirradiated ones lowering of test temperature and enhancing of irradiation energy. The activation parameters of stress relaxation like activation energy and activation volume were also analyzed from the relaxation tests. The activation energy was found to increase with decrease of test temperature and with increase of incident irradiation energy. The analysis of activation energy (U0) and activation volume (Vσ) suggests that the initial plastic deformation in irradiated titanium specimens is controlled by the interaction of dislocations with irradiation induced defects while this advances into dislocation-dislocation intersection as the deformation i proceeds which seem to control the rate process in irradiated polycrystalline titanium. Scanning electron microscope micrographs of the fractured surfaces show a combination of ductile and cleavage fractures, corresponding to different values of irradiation energy and test temperature.
