(اکثر حضرات ہم سے علامہ مرحوم کے حالاتِ زندگی کے طالب ہیں، بہار اسٹوڈنٹس کانفرنس نے علامہ مرحوم پر سب سے بہتر مضمون نگار کے لیے انعام مقرر کیا، سوانح و حالات کے لیے اکثر اشخاص کے خطوط آتے ہیں، مطول لائف تو جب لکھی جائے گی، اس وقت اس مختصر رسالہ پر قناعت کرتے ہیں کہ منتظر احباب کو زحمت انتظار سے کسی قدر نجات مل سکے، اس مضمون سے پنجاب کے ان بعض اخبارات کی تحریروں کی تصیح بھی ہوجائے گی، جو حادثۂ وفات کی تقریب نے مولانا کے مرحوم کے سوانح زندگی کے متعلق انھوں نے لکھی تھیں)

          اسلام کا گہرا بادل ایک ہزار سال سے برابر ہندوستان کی اقلیم پر مصروف بارش ہے، کتنی بار بادل ابرنیساں بن کر برسا اور اس عجائب زار ہند کا دامن لعل و گہر سے بھرگیا لیکن ۱۸۵۷؁ء میں سارے ملک پر ایک خونی بادل نے تراوش کی، جس سے ہر جگہ تو خون برسا، لیکن کہیں کہیں خون کے قطروں کے بجائے سرخ یاقوت کے دانے برسے، جن میں سے ایک کو قدرت نے شبلی کے نام سے موسوم کیا۔

          ہندوستان کی سیر حاصل زمین نے علوم و فنون میں جو بالیدگی پیدا کی، اس کی تفصیل کا یہ موقع نہیں، تاہم مختلف دروں میں جو کلام و اسرارِ شریعت میں بحرِؔالعلوم اور شاہ ولی اﷲ، ادب و معانی میں قاضی عبدالمقتدر، ملک العلماء دولت آبادی، اور ملا محمود جونپوری، فلسفہ و منطق میں ملا نظام الدین اور ملا محب اﷲ بہاری، ادب و شاعری میں مسعود سعد سلمان، خسرو اور فیضی، تاریخ و خبر میں ضیا برنی، ابوالفضل اور آزاد بلگرامی کو پیدا کیا، لیکن اس کی آغوش کا آخری فرزند (شبلی) وہ تھا جو ملا محمود بھی...

SCHOOL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT COMPETENCIES FOR IMPROVED ADMINISTRATIVE EFFECTIVENESS IN PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN RIVERS STATE NIGERIA

The study investigated school business competencies for improved administrative effectiveness in Public Secondary School in Rivers State. Three research questions and two null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The population of the study was 286 principals in all the public secondary schools in Rivers State. A sample of 166 through a stratified random technique was determined using the Taro Yamane formula. The instrument of the study was a self design instrument captioned “School Business Management Competencies Questionnaire (SBMCQ) and Principal Administrative Effectiveness (PAE) with the reliability coefficients of 0.77 and 0.84 respectively which was determined through the Cronbach alpha statistics. Mean scores and standard deviation was used to answer the research questions while Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was sued to test the hypothesis. It was discovered that the highest kind of business available in the public school is related to cafeteria / canteen services and that also to a high extent, resourcefulness as a business management competency improves administrative effectiveness in public secondary schools in Rivers State. It concluded that for the school administrators to manage the school business effective (administrative effectiveness), they must possess the core competence of resourcefulness, conceptual thinking and administrative organisation. It was recommended among others that the principal should have a comprehensive understanding of the school complex nature and also think critically at both abstract and concrete level to harmonize a rather multifaceted business challenges in the school and proffer realistic solutions.

A Comparative Study of Parent-Child Relationship, Communication, Self-Easteem and Academic Achievements Between Female Students of Public and Private Schools

The purpose of present study was to identify dynamics of parenting in parent-child relationship, communication, self-esteem and academic achievements of female students. The core theme of current research addressed parent-child relationship by focusing on mother- daughter dyad. The main objective of research was to measure and compare parent-child relationship, parent-child communication, self-esteem and academic achievements between female students of public and private schools. From logical theoretical framework and rigorous synthesis of extensive review of relevant literature, all research variables & indicators were extracted, selected and identified for quantitative measurement. Four theoretical perspectives were analyzed to build theoretical framework, in which bio-ecological theory explained macro and micro environmental influences on child through coordination of different layers of family relations & systems of schools. Family system theory of communication explained family communication patterns& skill used by parent to enhance parent-child relationship in the family. Social capital theory addressed parent-child relationship as social capital for children to get academic achievement in their schools. Symbolic interactionism helped to explain the process of development of concept of self-esteem in adolescent girls. This theoretical framework provides philosophic reasoning and logic by connecting all facts together in a coherent whole. Quantitative survey design was used to get information through self- administrated questionnaire. It was a structured questionnaire that consisted on four parts including structured questions with probable key options given below. The participants of present study were female students of age ranged between 13 to 16 years from different public and private schools of Lahore, who were attending 8th and 9th classes respectively. The sample was consisting of 864 female students, in which 511 students were from public and 353 from private schools. Convenient sampling technique was used due to unequal distribution of population in the schools of public and private sectors. Data was statistically analyzed by applying Chi-square test to compare the frequencies between public and private schools. Results showed significant difference in almost all sets of variables of parent-child relationship and parent-child communication. However, the level of academic achievement was significantly higher in students of private schools as compared to public schools. Whereas, the level of self- esteem was significantly higher in both groups of female students from public & private school showing substantial self-worth of girls about themselves.
