جناب شفیق جونپوری اُردو زبان کے نامور شاعر تھے اوراُن کاتعلق شعراء کے اُس گروہ سے تھا جوترقی پسند شاعری کے اُس دور طمطراق میں بھی فکروبیان کی پرانی قدروں کوسینہ سے لگاتے رہے، اورصرف یہی نہیں بلکہ اپنے فنی کمال و صنعت گری کے ذریعہ اُن کو مزید جلا بخشی اوران کی عزّت وآبرو قائم رکھی۔ کوئی شبہ نہیں کہ ان حضرات کی وفات ملک و قوم اورعلم وادب کے لیے بڑا حادثہ ہے،لیکن یہ دنیا یوں ہی چل رہی ہے اور چلتی رہے گی ۔ سدارہے نام اﷲ کا!

An Analysis of Sociocultural Barriers on Social Empowerment of Women in Sahiwal Division
The paper sets out to discuss impact of socio-cultural barriers on social empowerment of rural women in term of decision making related to their personal as well as social life in Sahiwal division. Pakistan is a patriarchal society characterized by patri-local residence and exclusion of women from the right of inheritance and succession, which pave ways for male-headed society. In addition, socio-cultural factors strongly favour male-dominance and an inferior status of females in all walks of life. A quantitative approach was adopted for carrying out current study. A survey instrument was designed and employed for data collection from 384 respondents from rural areas of Sahiwal division. The findings of the study revealed that less than one third (31.25%) of the respondents were consulted in decision-making about domestic matters. Likewise, more than half (51.8%) of the respondents were not independent in moving out of home for meeting any social need. Similarly, more than one third (41.4%) of the respondents were not free to visit their friends in the neighborhood. The study concludes that women in the rural areas are less empowered and still suffering socially, economically and psychologically in their day to day life. The study provides an insight for professional social workers, policy makers and stakeholders in public and private sectors for influencing policy-making and planning for revisiting and redesigning existing policies and plans intended for empowerment of rural women in PakistanThe Role of the Principal in Enhancing Efficient School Improvement Through Collaboration: A Critical Perspective
Focusing on school leadership relations between the principal, teachers, students, parents, and other key elements of the school community, this study gives an examination of the potential of their active collaboration around instructional matters to enhance the quality of teaching and student performance. The analysis is grounded on the principal's manipulation of the dynamics of collaboration through two conceptions of leadership transformational and shared instructional. The sample is the secondary section of a private school belonging to a wider cartel of schools under private management. The school is governed by a decentralised system where each section has a head teacher and other management and instructional leaders. All these sections are under one umbrella of the principal's office. The principal in turn is assisted by an academic vice principal and an administrative vice principal. This leads to a rich hierarchy of authority whose management would be very difficult without employing the dynamics of collaboration. The study attributes the success of the school to the prestigious status as a result of the principal's collaboration with the stakeholders involved, and it highlights certain qualities of leadership that support collaboration as well. Discussion of the limiting factors and critical aspects of leadership has also been done. This study depended on a qualitative case study design from which the various themes discussed emerged. These include how the various stakeholders perceive their roles, structures set for collaboration, results of collaboration, obstacles to collaboration and how the principal manipulates existing conditions in order to pave the way for school improvement. The conclusion reached is that there is no one particular leadership style that suits a school situation. An integrated style is advocated for depending on the culture of the school and the vision it is set to attain.Journals by Discipline
