مولانا نجم الدین اصلاحی
۱۴؍ اگست کو حافظ مولانا نجم الدین صاحب اصلاحی نے تقریباً ۹۴ برس کی عمر میں داعی اجل کو لبیک کہا۔ اِناﷲ وَاِنا اِلَیہ رَاجِعُون۔
انھوں نے اپنے جدبزرگوار ملاقدرت علی مرحوم سے ابتدائی تعلیم حاصل کی اور اپنے گاؤں ہی کے ایک دوسرے بزرگ حافظ عبدالرحیم مرحوم کی خدمت میں رہ کر قرآن مجید حفظ کیا، مزید تعلیم مدرسۃ الاصلاح سرائمیر میں ہوئی، اس وقت مدرسہ میں مولانا امین احسن اصلاحی صاحبِ تدبر قرآن اور مولانا اختر احسن اصلاحی مرحوم سابق مہتمم مدرسۃ الاصلاح بھی زیر تعلیم تھے۔ فارسی میں مولانا نجم الدین صاحب کی اچھی اور پختہ استعداد ان کے ہم وطن مولوی محمد مصطفےٰ صاحب کے فیض تلمذ کا نتیجہ تھی۔ جو مدرسۃ الاصلاح میں فارسی کے بہت اچھے اور لائق معلم تھے۔ اس زمانے میں مولانا شبلی متکلم ندوی مدرسۃ الاصلاح سرائمیر کے مہتمم تھے، وہ علامہ شبلیؒ کے تلمیذ رشید اور اس مجلس اخوان الصفاء کے ایک رکن تھے جو علامہ مرحوم کی وفات کے بعد ان کے ناتمام کاموں کی تکمیل کے لیے مولانا حمیدالدین فراہیؒ کی سربراہی میں قائم ہوئی تھی۔ مولانا شبلی متکلم معقولات اور اسرار شریعت کی کتابوں کا درس اس شان سے دیتے تھے کہ طلبہ کو مطالب بخوبی ذہن نشین ہوجاتے تھے۔ مدرسہ کا معیارِ تعلیم بلند اور بہتر بنانے کے لیے ان کو دوبارہ مدرسہ کی خدمت کی زحمت دی گئی تو بڑھاپے میں بھی ان کے درس کا وہی رنگ رہا، اس کی شہادت مولانا نجم الدین صاحب نے اس طرح دی کہ وہ چپکے سے جنگلے کے پاس جاکر درس سنا کرتے تھے۔ ان کے علاوہ مولانا عبدالرحمن نگرامی ندوی، مولانا حکیم محمد لہراوی اور دوسرے اساتذہ سے بھی درسیات کی تکمیل کی، ۱۹۱۷ء میں جب مولانا حمیدالدین فراہیؒ دارالعلوم حیدرآباد کی پرنسپلی سے استعفا دے کر مدرسۃ الاصلاح...
Adl and Qisṭ is indeed a manifestation of God’s mercy, rather, it may also be seen as a principal objective of Shariʿah. The origin or sources of administration of justice in Islām are the Quran, Sunnah of the holy Prophet, consensus of opinions of the jurists of Islamic jurisprudence and Analogy (Qiyās). Justice is a sacred obligation of supererogatory. It is obligatory upon the Muslim rulers to appoint judges for the dispensation of justice to attain equality, to protect the human rights from their violation, to safeguard the lives and properties, and to maintain law and order in society. As a judge is supposed to accomplish a very important and noble task being a regent of Allāh, hence, some vital merits and criteria regarding the conditions and qualifications for the appointment of the Qāḍī or judge in the light of the Qur’ān, Sunnah and Islamic jurisprudence and the code of conduct for the Pakistani judges must be observed at all costs. The author of this paper has discussed these conditions and qualifications in this article. There are some unanimous conditions for the appointment of judges, while some others are not agreed upon. While presenting the difference of opinions of the Islamic jurists, the author tried to explain, reconcile the opinions and at some places presented her own view in the light of her analysis and arguments. These conditions are around thirty, but the author according to her own discretion chose some of the most important ones to discuss in this paper.
Loquat (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.) is an important but ignored fruit crop of Pakistan for which no research work has ever been reported previously inside the country. There is no standard or identified loquat cultivar available to the growers for cultivation in the loquat growing pockets of Pakistan. Generally, the farmers grow their orchards through seeds. As a result, most of the loquat orchards do not possess the plants with uniform fruit characters and fruit is not of good quality. Previously no work has been reported regarding description of the loquat genotypes in Pakistan. The present study was, therefore, carried out to evaluate and characterize the available genotypes in the main loquat growing areas of Pakistan and to determine the genetic diversity among these genotypes. For this purpose, 9 sites were selected in the main loquat growing areas of Pakistan. Forty two genotypes were identified, which were compared on the basis of morpho-physical traits. Significant differences were observed with reference to various characteristics among different genotypes. Fruit weight of the genotypes ranged from 9.54 g (in HW4) to 47.84 g (in TB15). Range of flesh seed ratio was from 1.67 (in HW5) to 3.05 (in TB8). Minimum yield per tree was recorded as 25.85 kg (in TB15), while it was maximum (89.87 kg) in TB7. Correlations among some traits were also observed. Moreover, RAPD analyses of the genotypes were performed. Five RAPD primers gave reproducible results and generated 47 polymorphic bands. According to the dandrogram, two main groups of the loquat genotypes were identified with a linkage distance of 33%. For most of the locations, grouping of the genotypes was in accordance with the geographical locations. Out of the three genotypes from Mardan, one falls under the first group and the other two under the second group. The maximum number of genotypes (15) was identified at Takht Bhai, two of them belonged to the first group and 13 to the second group. Genotypes with good characteristics i.e. better yield, higher fruit size and weight, less number of seeds per fruit and higher flesh seed ratio can be recommended for further multiplication and introduction to the other loquat growing areas which would increase the income of farming community. The study also recommends establishing germplasm units in Punjab and NWFP and pooling all these genotypes for future strategies and breeding programs including selection, introduction, hybridization and mutation breeding. The present study would also be helpful for the documentation, management, and conservation of the loquat genetic resources of Pakistan.
